Clingman’s Dome, Cades Cove, The Morton Overlook, these are just some of the iconic locations we will visit on this spring workshop to Great Smoky Mountain National Park. This park offers something for everyone: great landscapes, charming historic buildings, bear, deer, coyote, turkey, songbirds. But the real highlight of this workshop will be the spectacular wildflowers. We timed this trip to coincide with peak spring wildflower season in the Smokies.
Included in the price is 4 nights lodging in a beautiful 4,200 square foot mountain cabin with spectacular 360 degree views. The cabin is located in a 150 acre private gated community with only 7 homes. The “cabin” boasts, a game room, theater, and a private outdoor Jacuzzi. The cabin also has a full kitchen to prepare breakfast and snacks. All this and only a 10 minute drive to the park.
The workshop will be based out of Townsend, TN. If you are flying in, Knoxville is the closest airport, which is a 45 minute drive. We will be happy to try to help coordinate ride and rental sharing whenever and wherever possible. Participants should plan on arriving late Thursday afternoon or evening for our orientation dinner. We will be shooting first thing Friday morning and go through Monday morning. This is a full 3 1/2 days of shooting. If you have a long drive, you could leave Monday AM if you wanted to. All lodging costs Thursday night through Sunday night are included in the price.
Note: cost includes 4 nights lodging and our welcome dinner on the first night.
