Nicole and I are delighted to share one of Steve’s images has been featured in the December 2025 edition of Travel Africa magazine. The image appears in the Your Moments section, a gallery showcasing exceptional photographs that capture the spirit, beauty, and emotion of the African continent.
This is a wonderful acknowledgement from one of the world’s most respected African travel and wildlife publications.
Travel Africa is renowned for its evocative storytelling, conservation awareness, and celebration of the continent’s most inspiring landscapes and wildlife experiences. Being included is a humbling moment, for sure!

Wildebeest of Africa
The featured photograph, titled “A Life in Motion”, was created in the Maasai Mara, Kenya, in August 2022 and demonstrates the importance of having a deep understanding of wildlife behaviour and photographic storytelling.
I wanted to try and capture the essence of a wildebeest’s life — which is a journey driven by instinct and the relentless pursuit of sustenance. I chose a solitary, stationary wildebeest as the focal point, symbolizing resilience and the quiet strength of survival.
The background is a dynamic blur created by a slow shutter speed, depicting the swift, continuous movement of the herd as they follow the sacred path of their annual migration.
This contrast between stillness and motion encapsulates the wild, untamed rhythm of their existence, a life on the move, fueled by nature’s eternal rhythm, set against the timeless African landscape that hosts their epic voyage over 1,000 miles in search of lush grasses.

The Great Migration in Africa
I feel that the image beautifully conveys the drama and poetry of the Great Migration in Africa – the tension between stillness and motion, the solitary and the collective, the individual and the epic journey that defines these remarkable animals.
We’re thrilled to see our work recognised in such a prestigious publication and proud to share this moment of celebration.
Stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes stories, upcoming tours, and new features as Steve and Nicole continue to document wildlife across the globe.
Good Luck and Good light!
Steve
