Costa Rica 2017 Trip Report: A Wildlife Paradise

Just returned from back-to-back tours in Costa Rica. I was lucky to have two really great, fun groups! As always,, we worked very hard from dawn to dusk making tens of thousands of images of all the magnificent Costa Rican subjects.

My personal favorite from the trip is the very graphic image of two Strawberry Poison Dart frogs, on what is arguably the coolest vine ever!

Of course, no trip to Costa Rica would be complete without a shot of the Resplendent Quetzal. This beautiful male is showing off his amazing tail for the ladies in the area.

We were also lucky to see a sloth with a very young baby along for the ride. Thanks, Hugo!

I really love showing how creatures use camouflage to hide from predators. Or in the case of this leaf-mantid, to hide from both predators and prey.
